Shelf? Why would you put these babies on a shelf? Put them in your mouth! But seriously, folks, our Mooonlight in Vermont chocolate bars, Vermont Maple Brittle and bulk chocolate will stay fresh up to 6-12 months, and our other confections up to three months, if stored in cool (55-70°F), dry conditions. But don’t store them – eat them! Or share them with a friend or loved one…or someone you want to become your friend or loved one.

Many of our confections contain nuts, milk proteins and/or soy – please contact us with specific questions. Our chocolate is made with sunflower lecithin. All of our confections are made in a facility that uses peanuts, tree nuts and milk proteins.

All of our ingredients are certified kosher, and all of our confections are vegetarian. Our facility is not certified.

The following products are non-GMO/GMO-free: Bulk Chocolate, Chocolate Bark, Hottie Chocolate, Mooonlight in Vermont chocolate bars and Peanut Butter Pigouts.

Delivery Information

At Sweet on Vermont, we take special care packing and shipping our handcrafted chocolates to ensure they arrive fresh and beautiful. Please review our delivery information below before placing your order.

Processing Time
All orders are processed within 1–3 business days. During peak seasons (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Halloween, and the holiday season), processing times may extend to 3–5 business days. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next business day.

Shipping Methods & Timeframes

  • Standard Shipping: 5–7 business days
  • Expedited Shipping: 2–3 business days
  • Overnight Shipping: Next business day (order must be placed by 12 PM EST)

Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and selected shipping method. Free standard shipping is available on orders over $75 within the continental United States.

Temperature & Chocolate Care
Chocolate is sensitive to heat. During warm weather months (May through September), we strongly recommend selecting expedited or overnight shipping to prevent melting. Sweet on Vermont is not responsible for melted or damaged products caused by weather conditions or shipping delays beyond our control.

We use insulated packaging and ice packs during warmer months to help protect your order. However, we cannot guarantee temperature conditions during transit.

Domestic Shipping
We ship to all 50 US states. PO Boxes are accepted for standard shipping only. Please ensure your shipping address is complete and accurate — we are not responsible for packages delivered to an incorrect address provided by the customer.

International Shipping
At this time, Sweet on Vermont ships within the United States only. We hope to offer international shipping in the future — please sign up for our mailing list to stay updated.

Order Tracking
Once your order has shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number. You can track your package directly on the carrier’s website. If you do not receive a tracking email within 5 business days of placing your order, please contact us.

Holiday & Gift Shipping
For special occasions and holidays, we recommend ordering at least 7–10 business days in advance to ensure timely delivery. Gift orders can include a personalized message — simply add your note at checkout.

Your satisfaction is very important to us. Because our products are handcrafted, perishable food items, our returns policy is different from standard retail. Please read the information below carefully.

Perishable Products — General Policy
Due to the perishable nature of our chocolate confections, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on opened or consumed products. However, we stand behind the quality of everything we make and will work with you to make things right if there is an issue with your order.

Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged, melted beyond what is acceptable, or if you receive the wrong items, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. To process your claim, we will need:

  • Your order number
  • A brief description of the issue
  • Clear photos of the damaged or incorrect items and packaging

Once we review your claim, we will offer a replacement shipment or a store credit at our discretion. Refunds to original payment are issued only in cases where a replacement cannot be provided.

Heat Damage
Sweet on Vermont is not responsible for heat damage caused by weather conditions during transit. We strongly recommend choosing expedited shipping during warmer months and ensuring someone is available to receive your package. If heat damage occurs despite proper precautions on our end, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

Non-Perishable Items (Gift Cards)
Sweet on Vermont Gift Cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. They are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If your gift card is lost or stolen, please contact us with your proof of purchase.

Order Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placement, provided they have not yet entered processing. To cancel an order, please contact us immediately by email or phone. Orders that have already been processed or shipped cannot be cancelled.

Incorrect Shipping Address
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout. Sweet on Vermont is not responsible for packages undelivered or lost due to an incorrect address provided by the customer. If a package is returned to us due to an address error, you will be responsible for the cost of reshipping.

Refund Processing
Approved refunds will be processed within 5–7 business days and returned to the original payment method. You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been issued. Please allow additional time for your bank or credit card provider to process the credit.

Payment Processing: All payments are handled through PayPal. Sweet on Vermont does not have access to or store any credit card details.

All prices listed on our website are in USD and are subject to change without notice. Sales tax will be applied where required by law. We accept payment through PayPal and other approved methods. Sweet on Vermont does not store your credit card information — all transactions are processed securely through our payment provider.

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. Your order is confirmed only when you receive an email confirmation from us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including cases of pricing errors, product unavailability, or suspected fraudulent activity.
